A long time friend just called me and tried to bash me for "over-biting" the celebrated (and phenomonal) Holland artist Delta on the Vodafone illo. My response... Great (and twisted) minds think alike. Exhibit A... I rocked this doodle in a 1996 sketchbook (sitting in the back row of a Geometry class), way before I knew anything about what was happening in contemporary art and design. Don't get me wrong... I do see the similarity, and I definitely have much respect for Delta (he does this style better than anyone!). I just wanted to show how similar styles can bubble up from different minds that are unaware of each other's work... My friend also got a little salty about me being too commercial, and not "keeping it real"... but his inferior cell phone dropped the call before I could respond. We'll have to open up that debate the next time we "go fishing". Haha!
